Rockford FC adds former Professional Goalkeeper Josh Hill as GK's Coach and Assistant Coach for their programs.

Rockford FC has collaborated with Josh Hill since 2024 and officially sealed the deal in hiring a highly experienced former professional soccer player. His extensive experience is expected to elevate our program to new heights.

Coach Hill had collaborated with the program in 2024, helping the goalies enhance their abilities and helping our U23 earn a first in the program Greater Chicago Soccer League championship. In addition, his expertise helped propel the performance of our first team goalkeepers and allowed the overall team performance to reach a great third place finish in the Midwest Premier League.

Rockford FC president Samir Romero says: "When you can give the players expertise and knowledge from a person who has played the game at the highest level, you are no longer instructing them, now you are giving them life experience, you are giving them an absolute edge over any program at our level. We could not be happier to have such a great coach and mentor for our extremely talented players. Rockford will be better with Josh on our side."

Josh Hill joined Rockford FC as a Goalkeeper Coach for the 2024 season. He continues to work as Waubonsee's Chiefs' Goalkeeper Coach. Previously he was the Head Coach for the Men's Soccer at McHenry County College. Hill has a goalkeeper experience of over 25 years at club, one-on-one, collegiate and semi professional levels. He spent 10 years on Dan Gaspar's staff with the Star Goalkeeper Academy and the Connecticut Soccer School.

Hill played collegiately for a year at the University of Cincinnati, finished his college career at the University of Southern Indiana (USI), with a bachelors in Exercise Physiology. An integral part of two Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament runner-up teams at USI, ranked as high as 10th and 18th nationally in consecutive National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) polls. Hill moved on to play professionally with Coventry City ( England), Malaga CF (Spain), U.D. Leiria (Portugal), and Excelsior ( Holland). He also played professional indoor with the Cincinnati Excite, Chicago Storm, and Chicago Soul.

Coach Hill says: "Rockford has always had a strong Soccer community. Our job is to make sure that we can get players to play at the highest level possible and as consistently as possible. Through training, dedication, time and structured outlook, I believe that Rockford could be a massive hub in Illinois for soccer development, between us and the Raptors. I believe we have a good start and at the end of the season hope we bring home a few trophies just to prove how strong Rockford has become in the United States soccer outlook."
