Brett Suhayda

Head Coach

Brett Suhayda was named the first head coach in Rockford FC history in February 2020.

​

Suhayda has coached at Waubonsee Community College for the last 12 years where he has won five conference championships and has been named coach of the year four times.

​

Suhayda led the Chiefs to a 13-5-1 record in 2019 and also took WCC to the NJCAA Division I National Tournament for the first time in school history back in 2017.

​

Suhayda graduated from Oswego High School in 2001 and went on to play at Lawrence University in Appleton, Wisconsin. He also played and coached with Aurora Borealis SC.

Christian Bitangalo

Assistant Coach MWPL / Head Coach U23 GCSL

Rockford FC named Christian Bitangalo as an assistant coach in February 2020.

​

The Democratic Republic of the Congo native comes to RFC after graduating from Guilford High School.

​

Bitangalo was the team captain for the Vikings before playing at the University of St. Francis for two seasons where he started 36 games as a defender for the Fighting Saints.

​

Bitangalo has coached kids at the Rockford Panthers Soccer Club and served as an assistant at Illinois Valley Community College.

​

Most recently, Christian was named Head Coach for our development program, the U23's, where he helped the team become champions of the Greater Chicago Soccer League in Rockford FC's first year (2024).

Josh Hill

Goalkeeper's Coach MWPL & GCSL 

Assistant Coach MWPL

Josh Hill joined Rockford FC as a Goalkeeper Coach for the 2024 season. He continues to work as Waubonsee's Chiefs' Goalkeeper Coach. Previously he was Head Men's Soccer Coach at McHenry County College. Hill has a goalkeeper experience of over 25 years at club, one-on-one, collegiate and semi professional levels. He spent 10 years on Dan Gaspars' staff with the Star Goalkeeper Academy and the Connecticut Soccer School.

Hill played collegiately for a year at the University of Cincinnati, finished his college career at the University of Southern Indiana (USI), with a bachelors in Exercise Physiology. An integral part of two Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament runner-up teams at USI, ranked as high as 10th and 18th nationally in consecutive National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) polls. Hill moved on to play professionally with Coventry City ( England), Malaga CF (Spain), U.D. Leiria (Portugal), and Excelsior ( Holland). He also played professional indoor with the Cincinnati Excite, Chicago Storm, and Chicago Soul.
