ROCKFORD (February 23, 2021) Rockford FC announced Tuesday that Highland Community College's Mass Communication department will broadcast its home games in 2021.
Led by Director of Mass Communication Jim Yeager, HCC students will provide RFC with an online stream for its six Midwest Premier League games.
"This partnership serves as an outstanding opportunity for the students in the Highland district," said Yeager. "For a student in their first or second year of college to have the chance to broadcast live semi-professional sports is something that most schools cannot offer. We are looking forward to this unique venture that gives our students such a great opportunity while also engaging our community in such a positive and worthwhile way."
RFC President Samir Romero said this partnership will be a benefit for Rockford supporters who are unable to make it out to games as well as visiting fans who cannot make the trip.
"We feel that our two programs collaborating will enhance the soccer experience for all of our fans and family members," said Romero. "This allows anyone to watch the games remotely if they are unable to make it to one of our games. When it comes to our fans and when it comes to our game, we want the best experience possible, and we will work at providing that for everyone."
RFC will reveal at a later date how you will be able to watch games.
